Students from various healthcare and welfare programs working together on practical issues: that is the strength of the innovative Practical Innovation in Healthcare and Welfare (PZW) educational unit.
In the Practical Innovation in Care and Welfare (PZW) educational unit, students from no fewer than 10 different programs and 3 academies work together on a practical issue in the field of care and welfare.
Students work together to develop social solutions for the region. Third- and fourth-year students collaborate with relevant stakeholders on practical research projects. By the end of the module, students are true professionals in their field, capable of working effectively with other healthcare providers. In short, they are ready for the job market and the world of tomorrow!
Twice a year (in September and February), new groups start with assignments that come directly from practice: from a neighborhood, a healthcare institution, or an organization in the field. The student groups, classes, and teaching team are all interprofessional. The learning outcomes of the module are the same for all students. Around 250 students participate each semester and an average of 17 learning coaches are involved. Students conduct qualitative, quantitative, or design-oriented research at graduation level (bachelor’s) that contributes to practical innovation in healthcare and welfare. The organization and coordination of the module is entrusted to a results-oriented teaching team with a core team composed of the 10 participating study programs.
